Geelong has secured the talents of two future stars until the end of 2017.
First year players Nakia Cockatoo and Cory Gregson have re-signed with the club for a further year on top of their existing two-year contracts.
Cockatoo has already given Cats supporters a reason to get excited, showing off his skills throughout the NAB Challenge. The 185cm midfielder excited the crowd with a 65m super goal in NAB 2 at Simonds Stadium.
Gregson, a 175cm small forward, has also shown positive signs of his future ability, playing in all three NAB Challenge matches.
General Manager of Football Steve Hocking said the club is delighted to have Nakia and Cory recommit to the club.
“As a club we are really pleased to have secured Nakia and Cory to our football club until at least the end of 2017,” Hocking said.
“Both boys have managed to impress through their skill and personal values in their short time here.
“It’s an exciting time to be a member of the Geelong Cats, the signing of these two young talents has the future looking even more positive.”
Cockatoo and Gregson were drafted to the club with picks 10 and 47, selections the club received after a last minute trade week exchange with the Adelaide Crows for picks 14 and 35.
