Geelong has made a late change to their side to take on Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
Former Australian basketballer turned Geelong Cat, Michael Luxford will make his AFL debut as he comes into the Cats side for Rhys Stanley who will miss with a corked quad.
Luxford will start as sub for the Cats with James Kelly, Mathew Stokes and Cam Guthrie also starting on the bench.
Luxford was listed by the Cats as a Category B rookie just prior to the 2014 season having never played an official game as a teenager.
The former Australian U19 point guard was upgraded to the senior list last week in place of Lincoln McCarthy who is on the long-term injury list.
Luxford’s inclusion makes two changes for the Cats from last week’s side. Josh Walker came in as a replacement for Mitch Clark (calf) on Thursday.
