Veteran tall Kate Darby can play ruck or key forward, but spent more time in the ruck in 2023, working in tandem with the returning Erin Hoare. Darby averaged 11.4 hit-outs a game last season, up from 6 per game the season before. She also saw more of the footy, and brought the pressure with an average of 3 tackles per game. The inaugural Cat still made her presence felt in the forward line, providing another tall target for the Cats, with a couple of goals and 18 score involvements over the season.
