This year marks the 100 year anniversary since the Brownlow Medal was awarded to the league’s fairest and best player in the VFL/AFL.
The medal is named after former Geelong player Charles Brownlow who's playing career commenced in 1881 and concluded in 1890.
The Victorian Football League held Brownlow in such high regard that a decision was made to award a medal in his honour to the competition’s best and fairest player annually, as adjudged by the field umpires.
To celebrate this significant occasion the Geelong Football Club has created the Brownlow Heritage Walk for you to reflect and learn more about Brownlow's connection to Geelong and the impact he had on the game and local community.
