Today Cats TV welcomed special guest, Jimmy Bartel, to join journalist Scott Gullan on Argue the Toss, where they were asked to explain Steve Motlop’s most dangerous position.

Bartel believes Motlop’s strongest role on-field is playing as a halfback forward, where he can use his speed to drive the ball towards goal.

“Steve’s been in fantastic form as a halfback forward, pushes up the ground a bit to the wing and obviously using his real asset which is his speed and a really creative player for us,” Bartel said.

Fitness and athleticism is what impresses Gullan the most about Motlop’s game, he believes his body type ticks all the boxes for an AFL footballer.

“I think it’s more his fitness, he seems to have a body of an AFL player so he can play that high half forward, which is basically a second wing-man…” Gullan said.
