The VFL Cats have named an extended squad to take on Williamstown at Simonds Stadium this Saturday afternoon.
George Horlin-Smith is set to return for the round 7 clash after a week on the sidelines with a groin complaint and Zac Bates is also in the mix to play his first match for 2015.
VFL listed player Dane McFarlane could possibly return after collecting best on ground honours in the Geelong Football League’s interleague win last weekend.
It will be a challenge for the Cats who are coming off a 5-point loss to Port Melbourne last week. Williamstown are currently sitting second on the VFL ladder after a 78-point win against the Coburg Lions.
Williamstown captain Ben Jolley will be one to watch, a critical player through the midfield for the Seagulls and certainly one the Cats will play close attention to in order to nullify his influence.
Head to head the Cats and Seagulls have met 19 times, Geelong 9 wins and Williamstown 10. Their last meeting was round 7, 2014 where Williamstown defeated Geelong by 25 points at Burbank Oval, Williamstown.
The squad of 31 will be cut back to 23 on Saturday morning.
