Geelong’s VFL and VFLW teams are preparing for practice matches over the next four weeks as their 2023 seasons loom nearer.
The VFL side will kick things off this Thursday as part of the extended match simulation against Hawthorn/Box Hill Hawks at GMHBA Stadium.
This will be followed by a home game against Werribee on Friday 10 March and an away game against Collingwood on Saturday 18 March.
The VFLW Cats will play both their practice matches at home, taking on Williamstown and Western Bulldogs respectively at Deakin University Elite Sports Precinct in Waurn Ponds over the first two weekends of March.
It will be Geelong fans’ first chance to see the Bendigo Bank Cats under the guidance of new senior coaches Mark Corrigan and Elise Coventry, after the former Cats players took over the reins over the off-season.
Previous coaches Shane O’Bree and Andrew Bruce have taken on new roles within Geelong’s football department, working as a Midfield and List Assistant for the AFL team and Development Coach for the AFLW team respectively.
Entry to all practice matches is free.
