Geelong has announced a partnership with Arkana Energy one of Australia’s largest installers of residential solar.
The announcement, made ahead of the Club’s opening blockbuster fixture against Collingwood this evening, will see Arkana Energy become the Official Clean Energy Partner and Official Sustainability Partner of Geelong Cats.
The two year partnership will see the Arkana Energy brand appear across matchday signage in the player’s warm up area, across LED screens at all home games and static signage at GMHBA Stadium.
Geelong Chief Operating Officer Simon Kelleher said the Club was thrilled to welcome Arkana Energy to the Cats family.
“We love that Arkana Energy are a family-run and family-owned business built on fairness, integrity and hard work, as we are, and we’re really proud to partner with them,” Kelleher said.
“Our game is not exempt from environmental issues and it’s a pleasure to partner with Arkana Energy to assist the Club in its journey of sustainability. The Club is committed to delivering a new ESG Charter in 2023 with support of Arkana Energy who are leaders in solar energy in Australia.
“Climate change is a serious global issue and we are committed to finding opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint. The Geelong Football Club aspires to become a leader in the Australian sporting industry and within our local Geelong – Wadawurrung community.”
Tyson Stronach, Arkana Energy CEO said they were equally excited to work with the Cats to help build a sustainable future in the Geelong region and beyond.
"I'm proud to welcome the Cats into our big, happy family, and look forward to helping the Club and its community live sustainably. This is an important step for the Club, our family owned and operated business, and the Greater Geelong region as a whole."
Managing Partner Luke Stronach agreed, “We hear plenty about ESG goals, but see very little organisational action. This is a very special moment, and a legitimate step towards enabling both parties to support a sustainable future for the Geelong community.”
Arkana Energy began their journey in southeast Queensland. Backed by their reputable and trustworthy nature, they’ve completed over 10,000 solar installations. With a new Victorian head office on the horizon in Torquay and they are excited to partner with the Cats.
