Geelong GM of Football Simon Lloyd has provided the latest health update for geelongcats.com.au thanks to GMHBA:
Obviously, Jack Bowes was subbed out in the first quarter against Essendon on the weekend with a calf strain, and we expect it to be short term. The real positive for Jack is that he's gotten really used to our system, he understands the way we play, and we saw that against Sydney the week prior. He had ten contested possessions and took a couple of great contested marks and we saw our fans and members really fall in love with him.
Zach Tuohy had back spasms and went through a fitness test - went through everything pre-game - it was a real credit to Zach, he's pretty tough and tried to get himself up. Unfortunately, he didn't get there but I saw him jog past my office this morning, look spritely and we expect him to be available.
Cam Guthrie has a toe joint injury at the moment and we're conservative with our approach and we expect it to be short term We're thinking how best to look after Cam through this and just assess it as each day goes.
Both Tyson Stengle and Rhys Stanley had fractures, Tyson had a fracture to his arm and Rhys had a fracture cheekbone. Both have commenced cross training which is great and they're in good spirits so hopefully the weeks tick away for those guys pretty quickly and they'll be back before we know it.
Over the last week, Jack Henry has commenced running around at training which is great news for the club. He'll be in full training this Thursday and Jack's a really important player to us as we know and he's very important for our system and the way that we play. It's going to be great to have him running around again and that'll be something that we build over the coming weeks and get him game ready.
