Chris Scott on... Dangerfield Returning from Injury
"He was close last week but as we eluded to, we were going to be cautious with him. Looking back, he had a lung issue and that was the problem we needed to be really sure about.
"I've said a number of times that I just don't think it's the modern way, at our club anyway to risk any player, irrespective of status within the group.
"That was an indication of how close he was however, and therefore how good his chances were for this week and he has trained as expected.
"It's good to have him back."
Chris Scott Press Conference | Round 16
Hear from Geelong's senior coach ahead of their Round 16 clash with Sydney on Friday night. Presented by Morris.
Chris Scott on... What to Expect Against Sydney
"I'll be honest, you prefer the opposition to be struggling when you play them. But for the good of the game, you want to see teams be able to play somewhere near their highest capacity. They clearly look as if they are ready to do that as well."
"We try to take the same approach every single week, which is to expect the opposition to play better than they did that previous week. If they didn't play very well the previous week, you expect them to play near the best.
"You don't need to analyse it with too much depth to see that there are some teams that have been very, very good in the last year or so, that get troubled by injury and a few other things and then they fall back to the field very quickly.
"I don't make a habit of looking at a game from two months ago or ladder positions, you just try to get a sense for where that team is right at that point in time. How relevant the 170-point win was to where they are at is a bit hard to ascertain.
"So I just simplify it and say, they've got their preferred players back with a few exceptions and at their best they are a very good team, so that's what we are expecting."

Chris Scott on... Sam Menegola Returning
"Sam has been a really important player to us and a great man around the club.
"It's been a brutal time for him over the last twelve months or so, but to see him fighting his way back is exciting for everyone. He is the ultimate professional; I can't wait to see him back in our team.
"He hasn't played for so long, so we will cool our jets a little and let him get a few more games under his belt at VFL level.
"But I am really confident he can play a part from here."
Chris Scott on... The Second Half of Season
"It's similar to the way we approached last year, try not to get too hung up on what has happened in the past because you can't change that.
"We try not to get too anxious about what might come in the future as well. I know I break my own rule, because if you're involved at a football club you don't watch other games barracking for anyone in particular unless they directly help your cause.
"This week is the first time this year we have had a decision to make around some management concerns. We don't make too many secrets of the fact that management is something we prioritise, we just haven't had the opportunity to really do it this year.”
