Gryan Miers' strong outing against Sydney on Friday night was recognised with the league's leading goal assist player receiving four votes in the AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player of the Year voting.

Miers was one of three Cats to feature in the Round 16 votes, along with Zach Tuohy (three votes) and Tom Atkins (1).

Miers had 27 disposals, six inside 50s and a team-high seven score involvements, as well as a goal, in one of his strongest performances for the club.

Tuohy, who equalled Jim Stynes' record for the most VFL/AFL games by an Irish-born footballer in the match with 264, had a team-high 28 disposals, a game-high 737 metres gained, five intercepts and four score involvements.

Atkins brought the pressure and the heat around the contest with some pivotal possessions, finishing with 18 disposals, six clearances, and five tackles inside 50 from 11 tackles total (both game-highs).
