The Geelong VFL team take on Collingwood in the season’s penultimate round, with the Cats needing a win to keep their finals hopes alive.  

Geelong have made five changes for their clash against the Magpies, with eleven AFL-listed players named to take the field in a strong line-up for ‘the Bankers.’ 

Flynn Kroeger will be a welcome sight in the blue and white for Geelong fans on Saturday, as he returns for the first time in the 2023 season. 

The speedy midfielder has been restricted by injury through his first two seasons at Geelong, but will be one to watch as he takes the field this weekend.  

Tylar Watts will return to the Cats VFL side for the first time in over two years, after showing strong form at GFL level this season. 

Ryan Eyers will slot into the backline for his first game since round 11, while Tanner Lovell also returns for his second game of the year.  

Young talent, George Stevens will pull on the blue and white for the second time this year, following a strong run of recent form for Vic Country in the National Championships. 

Stevens featured for their Cats in round six against Coburg, collecting 16 disposals in his VFL debut as he ramps up his workload after missing the 2022 season through injury. 

Shannon Neale and Esava Ratugolea will both feature in the Geelong AFL team on Friday night, earning their returns on the back of strong form in the VFL. 

Jon Ceglar and Tom Feely will both miss the Collingwood clash through injury, while Hunter Gottschling will also make way after a number of solid performances as the 23rd player. 

The VFL Cats will take on Collingwood at Victoria Park, with the first bounce at 11:35am. The game will be streamed live and free on the official AFL App and website.
