Entering the second finals campaign of her young AFLW career, Cats star Georgie Prespakis is preparing to lead her side against a strong Essendon midfield following an incredible regular season.
Averaging a career high 25 disposals and seven clearances per game, the 20 year old has announced herself as one of the top players in the competition in just her third season at the top level.
Georgie and Geelong hit the finals in fine form, following strong wins in the final two rounds against Richmond and Hawthorn.
Prespakis produced another strong performance against Hawthorn on the weekend, amassing 35 disposals eight clearances to lead the Cats to a crucial win.
The star on-baller said that playing with a level of freedom has unlocked a higher standard of football for the team, carrying an exciting brand into the finals this weekend.
“We have really hit our straps the last few weeks,” Prespakis said.
“I think the messaging across that is just playing together and enjoying our football.
"We want to play with freedom and the past two games we have been able to play eight consistent quarters, and to be able to win games you have to be strong across the entire match.
"That is what we want to do and what we want to continue to do heading into the finals.”
The Cats matchup with the Bombers will ignite a clash inside a clash, with Georgie preparing to face older sister Maddy Prespakis who has developed into an elite midfielder at Essendon.
It was an entertaining battle earlier in the season when the two teams met, with Georgie gathering 26 disposals and 10 clearances while Maddy amassed 33 possessions to lead the Bombers to victory.
This time around, however, Geelong will host the Bombers at GMHBA Stadium in front of the Cats faithful which has proven to be a crucial factor right throughout the season.
Prespakis said the team can’t wait to play in front of their home fans, hoping that this clash can spark a deep finals run for the Cats.
"We are really stoked to have the home ground advantage,” Prespakis said.
We want to get as many people down to GMHBA Stadium as we can, to get behind us and make it as loud as possible.
We certainly are not ready for the season to be done yet, hopefully we can keep winning and continue to come back and push on in the finals this year.”
