Cats great Corey Enright says he is in no hurry to make a call on whether he plays on in 2017.
The 35-year-old club games record holder was very emotional after the preliminary final loss to the Sydney Swans, but he says the emotions did not signal he will soon hang up his boots.
“I will take a little bit of time just to think and clear my end before arriving at my decision,” Enright wrote in his Geelong Advertiser column on Grand Final day.
“Preliminary final night was so hard, and it is so disappointing to perform the way we did on the night, as I believed we were prepared really well.
“Obviously it all got too much for me once the siren sounded and my emotions spilt over.
“I can’t really explain why. It was a combination of things, I think.
“We had worked so hard and just missed the opportunity to play off in a Grand Final, and those chances don’t come around very often.
“Once the emotion came out I couldn’t control it.
“The more I said ‘stop crying’ the more I cried and there was nowhere to hide.”
Enright has played 332 games for Geelong since making his debut in 2001.
