Geelong travelled up the highway to face a strong Williamstown outfit on Sunday, with the Cats falling to the home team by 86 points.
Lily Jordan produced a fantastic game for the Cats collecting a game high 28 disposals, to go with five clearances and eight tackles.
The Seagulls brought intense pressure from the opening bounce, scoring two early goals and applying forward half pressure that Geelong were unable to match.
The Cats halved the territory battle but were unable to impact the scoreboard, before Williamstown produced another two goals in quick succession to end the first quarter.
The second quarter was a carbon copy of the first, with the Seagulls scoring three goals in four minutes to extend their lead to 48 points at the main break.
Williamtown’s pressure was incredible, making it difficult for the Cats to get the ball out of their defensive 50.
Rested and rejuvenated after half time, Geelong managed to not only slow down the Seagulls' attack, but showed a desire to take the game on themselves.
The Cats were able to lock it in their forward 50 for patches of the third quarter, but unfortunately couldn't find an effective avenue to goal.
Williamstown scored a goal late in the third quarter against the flow, pushing their lead to 60 points heading into the final quarter.
The Seagulls piled on four last quarter goals, extending their winning margin to 86 points as the final siren rung out around DSV Stadium.
Poppy Schaap performed strongly alongside Jordan in the middle, collecting 18 disposals while laying a game high 12 tackles.
Abbey McDonald pieced together another solid outing with 23 possessions, while Piper Dunlop dominated the ruck battle winning 44 hitouts, which was more than double Williamstown's total hitouts as a team.
Geelong will look to bounce back next week when they face the Western Bulldogs at Avalon Airport Oval, on Saturday morning with the first bounce at 11:00am
