Ollie Dempsey has been rewarded for his brilliant performance against Essendon, receiving nine coaches votes in the AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player Award.
The young gun picked up 25 disposals and kicked two goals, while also recording seven inside 50’s and laying four tackles in an incredible display on the wide expanses of the MCG.
Zach Tuohy received five votes for his role deep in defence, collecting 20 disposals and nine intercept possessions while playing most of the game in the Cats back 50.
Max Holmes was also awarded five votes for another great display, amassing 23 disposals and six marks along with an important goal late in the first quarter.
Mitch Duncan (20 disposals & 1 goal) received three votes from the coaches, while Tom Stewart’s move to the midfield was a success, rewarded with two votes for his 23 disposal performance.
