Six Cats have received votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award, following Geelong’s big win over Collingwood on Friday night. 

Patrick Dangerfield topped the table with nine votes from the coaches, for his 22 disposal and six clearance performance against the Magpies.

The skipper continues to build form after returning from a hamstring injury, gaining a team high 639 meters gained in Friday’s clash to be instrumental in Geelong’s ball movement. 

Gryan Miers was awarded eight votes for another strong outing, collecting a team high 27 disposals, nine score involvements and an equal career high five clearances. 

Another week brings more votes for Max Holmes, awarded the seven coaches votes for his 27 disposal and nine mark display against Collingwood. 

Seven votes for Holmes now brings him to 52 for the year, moving into 14th position on the overall leaderboard. 

Zach Guthrie received two votes for his brilliant defensive efforts, stifling Bobby Hill for most of the night while picking up 18 touches of his own. 

Jack Bowes (24 disposals & 1 goal) received two votes for his strong outing, while Tom Stewart (26 disposals & nine marks) rounded out the night with one vote.
