See the best quotes from Chris Scott’s Press Conference on Thursday, ahead of an important clash against North Melbourne this weekend.

Scott on the Cats Bouncing Back this week

We reviewed it the same way we always do, we had a poor one and we are not hiding away from that by any stretch of the imagination.

We recognise how difficult the competition is and how difficult it is for teams to be at their best every week, but that is no excuse to be as off as we were.

The challenge this week is to not overcorrect, especially as a coaching group but acknowledge that we need to be sharper going into this week.

To this point we feel like we have had a good preparation, we are going to need it because watching the Kangaroos, they look like a different side post bye than they were before it.

They are in good form, but you could say that about a lot of teams at the moment, that at their best they are dangerous.

Scott on North Melbourne’s Improvement

They have been really competitive in games, that is for sure.

You look at the talent they have, and we accept that a lot of that talent is young talent, which traditionally means you can be a bit up and down.

Over time that smooths out to improvement.

I have watched every team this year, especially I will highlight the teams that have had some bad games, they have also had other games where they looked like a finals contender.

That is the environment we find ourselves in, we try not to get too distracted by the evenness of the competition and the quality of the comp and make sure you get yourself right.

That is where we are at.

Scott on Tanner Bruhn’s Successful Return

Tanner will come back.

It was good for him to get that game under his belt, he looked as sharp as anyone could in those conditions and it was worse for the earlier game than it was for the AFL.

But importantly, I have said before with that wrist injury he is still in good running form.

The evidence that we have got and listening to him, he feels as fit as he has all year and the wrist got through really well.

We decided to be a bit more conservative and make sure there wasn't anything that we weren't aware of, before he came back into an AFL game and he ticked all those boxes.

He is ready to play and ready to play well.
