The Geelong Cats are excited to announce that K rock Football will broadcast Geelong’s AFLW home games this season.
The Cats are set to play five home games at GMHBA Stadium in the upcoming 2024 season, including their opening match against Melbourne on Saturday 31 August.
Via their online platform, krockfootball.live, K rock will provide coverage of every Cats GMHBA Stadium game during the 2024 AFLW season, allowing fans to listen delay-free.
This will allow supporters greater access to follow Geelong’s season, as they look to build on a successful 2023 campaign which saw the team make it all the way to a Preliminary Final.
K rock’s on-air team will feature former Geelong Cats fan favourite Rocky Cranston, who played 21 AFLW games for the Cats and broadcaster Tom King.
Cranston will provide expert comments throughout Geelong’s home games, with King set to provide the play-by-play description of each match.
“We look forward to following the Cats closely as they continue to strive for their maiden AFLW premiership,” Geelong Broadcasters General Manager Rachel Patterson said.
“After the success of their 2023 campaign, we know coach Dan Lowther and captain Meghan McDonald have the team ready for another big push for finals this year.
“With insights from Rocky (an early season pioneer) joining Kingy in the commentary box, we are thrilled to deliver all the action on krockfootball.live this season.”
Geelong Cats Chief Operating Officer Simon Kelleher said the Club was thrilled to see the growth of AFLW coverage through K rock’s online platform.
“This is an exciting opportunity for fans all across the country to tune in and listen to K rock calls of our home AFLW matches from our long-time radio partners,” Kelleher said.
“As our AFLW program continues to garner momentum, we look forward to more fans being able to tune in and hear the call, whether listening along to Kingy and Rocky at GMHBA Stadium or from their homes, workplaces or while they’re out and about.”
Geelong’s AFLW season commences on Saturday 31 August against Melbourne at GMHBA Stadium.
