Max Holmes has been recognised for his dominant performance on Thursday night, leading the way as Geelong cleaned up all 30 coaches votes in their Qualifying Final against Port Adelaide.

Holmes received a perfect 10 votes for his display against the Power, collecting a game high 28 disposals along with four clearances and seven score involvements.

With ball movement at a premium, Holmes’ run and carry was prolific recording 668 metres gained while still going at 86% disposal efficiency in an impressive performance.

Shaun Mannagh has received seven votes in his AFL Finals debut, collecting 23 disposals and kicking three goals while also dishing off another three goal assists.

No stranger to big games, Mannagh also recorded a game high 13 score involvements and laid five tackles in a stellar all round performance.

Mark Blicavs was awarded four votes from the coaches, rolling back into defence with great effect playing a significant role in nullifying Charlie Dixon on Thursday night.

The versatile Cat was also able to roll off Dixon and become an asset offensively, finishing with 15 disposals and four intercept marks.

Jeremy Cameron (19 disposals, four goals) and Patrick Dangerfield (24 disposals, 12 score involvements) both received three coaches votes, Tyson Stengle (13 disposals, four goals) was awarded two while Zach Guthrie (27 disposals, 11 intercept possessions) rounded out the votes with one.

The AFL Coaches Association Gary Ayres Award is presented in recognition of the player who has been adjudged as the best player throughout the AFL Finals series, as voted by the coaches on a weekly basis throughout the duration of the AFL Finals Series. 

Votes are issued after every game of the AFL Finals series by the competing coaches, with each coach providing their 5-4-3-2-1 for the match.
