Lilly Pearce will miss the remainder of the AFLW season with an ACL injury.

Geelong ruck Lilly Pearce will miss the remainder of the AFLW Season after suffering an ACL injury.

The injury occurred at training earlier in the week, with scans on Thursday confirming the ligament rupture in Pearce’s left knee.

Geelong Cats Assistant General Manager of Football Brett Johnson said Pearce would see a surgeon in the coming days and map out the next steps.

“It is an unfortunate injury for Lilly. She has been working diligently on her development since joining the Club this year,” Johnson said.

“Our AFLW program and the Club as a whole will wrap our arms around Lilly as she works through this difficult period, and we know that she’ll approach this challenge with the same thoroughness and spirit she has applied to her football so far.”
