Geelong’s AFLW program was treated to a special footwear fitting session on Monday thanks to Cats AFLW partner Birkenstock Australia.      

In an exciting collaboration between Geelong and Birkenstock Australia, Cats AFLW players and staff were treated to and had the chance to be fitted with select Birkenstock footwear and shown ways to care for and repair their current pair of Birkenstocks. 

A partnership dedicated to supporting athlete recovery and championing women in sport, Geelong and Birkenstock’s partnership focuses on a joint focus on quality and care, and their commitment to supporting athletes beyond the game and promoting wellbeing and comfort through high-quality footwear and meaningful connections.

Geelong midfielder Georgie Prespakis also quizzed the playing group with some hard-hitting fashion questions, including trying to solve the age-old debate of whether you should or shouldn’t wear socks with your Birkenstocks.

Speaking on the partnership, Geelong Cats Chief Operating Officer, Simon Kelleher, said:
