On a hectic deadline day which saw numerous players and draft picks change hands, Geelong secured the services of Bailey Smith in an exciting four club exchange in the final minutes of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

Along with Smith's arrival, the Cats draft haul also changed ahead of the Telstra AFL Draft late in November.

As part of Wednesday's four club deal, Geelong gave pick 17 (first round selection) to the Western Bulldogs and pick 38 (second round selection) to Carlton.

In return the Club received pick 45 along with Smith, leaving them with three selections heading into the Telstra AFL Draft.

The Four Club Deadline Day Trade

Geelong Receive Bailey Smith & Pick 45
Western Bulldogs Receive Matt Kennedy & Pick 17
St Kilda Receive Jack Macrae
Carlton Receive Pick 38

As it currently stands, Geelong have picks 45 and 57 (both in the third round) along with pick 75 (fourth round).

The Telstra AFL Draft will be held on November 20-21, widely tipped to be a strong and deep draft class.

Draft picks can still change hands in trades between October 17 and November 8, and again during the draft.
