Mikayla Bowen produced one of the more incredible and comical goals you are likely to see, during the second quarter of Sunday's big win over Brisbane.

After taking an important intercept mark on the Cats half forward flank, Bowen initially turned and faced the wrong way and even confused her opponent before readjusting and sprinting toward goal.

Despite the initial confusion, Bowen took a few steadying steps and then produced a brilliant finish to kick a crucial goal in the context of the match.

Bowen joined Kate McCarthy and Abbey Holmes on Talking W this week, talking through her goal and the win over Brisbane.

"For me yesterday I was playing a bit of a dual role, across the wing and half forward as well," Bowen said.

"Not many people know this but off the field I have one of the worst sense of directions in the world, I have no idea where I am driving most of the time and I will always use maps.

"Clearly I was in a half forward mindset there, getting ready to push back and kick to our taller forwards until I realised that in front of me was Meg McDonald and Claudia Gunjaca.

"Thanks to Poppy from Brisbane who was standing on the mark and helping me out, pointing the other way."

Bowen put together another strong performance on Sunday, collecting 14 disposals and laying eight tackles to go with her goal.

The contribution was part of a strong display from the Cats, which saw them record an impressive victory over the reigning premiers.

Bowen said the team are still confident that their best can beat anyone, as they head into the final two games of the home and away season.

"I think throughout the season we have been reassured in the way we have been coached, and even as a playing group around the fact that our best brand of footy is up there.," Bowen said.

"There has been frustration but it is also if anything, we know that our best is there.

"We have definitely had patches of it and moments, we just haven't been able to put it together consistently enough for four quarters to come away with as many wins as we would have liked.

"But again off the back of the weekend's performance, super proud of the girls to be able to put that together and get across the line."
