Lowther on the Takeaways from Week 9

It is always a challenge to travel over here.

The first half was a really tight arm wrestle, West Coast came out and they were really strong around the contest.

Their run and carry from end to end was super, it was hard to defend against.

I thought our girls did a really good job after half time to even up the contested numbers, then to slow their attack down.

Then obviously we made the most of our chances going forward, with a far better accuracy as opposed to previous weeks.

Lowther on Aishling Moloney's Performance

It was no surprise, she is a real tough competitor and continues to learn the game more each week too.

Aishling continues to find new ways to have an effect, when she was one on one against a defender she was winning the contests.

The way she gets up the ground to create time and space is another big asset that we have got, now that Aishling has developed her game awareness.

But her goal kicking today was outstanding and proved to be the difference between the two teams.

Lowther on the End of Season Goals

To come over as a team and know it was going to be a battle, West Coast had a lot to play for as well but so do we.

We wanted to finish off our year as strong as we possibly can, that was always the aim to finish really strong.

We know there is a few things that have to go our way above us, but it is not really a concern.

Really pleased with the group to get a hard fought win.

Lowther on Battling through Injuries

To lose Crockett-Grills in the first 10 seconds with an ankle injury who has been super for us all year, you are one midfielder down and then you lose Zali Friswell with another rolled ankle.

We have a few other players that are sore as well off the back of a hotly contested game.

It was a real battle, it was a really tough game but I think it made it an even better achievement to win the game.
