Geelong Cats are excited to announce the signing of former Australian volleyballer Caitie Tipping.

Standing at 191cm, Tipping is set to bolster Geelong’s ruck stocks with her height and athleticism, with the Club securing the 24-year-old’s services for the next three seasons, until at least the end of 2027.

A multi-sport talented athlete, Tipping was a member of the Australian women’s national volleyball program before switching codes to AFLW. Before that Tipping was originally on a scholarship at the University of South Alabama in the USA, before most recently playing with Linköping Volleyboll Club in Sweden. As a junior, Tipping has also played competitive soccer in the goalkeeper postion.

Geelong Cats Assistant General Manager of Football Brett Johnson welcomed Tipping to the Cats and her new career as an AFLW footballer.

“We are excited to welcome Caitie to the Cats. She’s an exceptional athlete that will only continue to develop in the AFLW environment. We believe Caitie is the perfect addition to our ruck and key position stocks,” Johnson said.

“A very talented volleyballer, our program staff will get to work to ensure she has all the preparation she needs to hit the ground running before joining the team for the commencement of pre-season.”
