Geelong's full playing list are back on the track for the second week of pre-season, with a number of fresh faces impressing in the early stages of their Cats career.
New recruit, Bailey Smith is among those looking to make a strong impression, after he joined the club via trade at the end of the 2024 season.
The 24 year old joined another Cats off-season recruit, Jack Martin and Geelong's new draftees as they settle into life in the Hoops.
Smith spoke to Cats Media about his connection with Geelong's new players, touching on their first few weeks at the club.
"I was at the draftees house the other night and we had a dinner there, so that was fun," Smith said.
"They are all settling in really well, all good characters firstly and I am sure their footy will do the talking in the coming months.
"Jack has settled in really well also, it has been a busy week for him but he is still managing to train and perform as well as we expect him to.
"He is an awesome man to talk to, really relaxed and caring."
After missing the 2024 AFL season through injury, Smith is back training with his new teammates in the opening weeks of pre-season.
He noted how good it is to be back competing on the field, as he and the Cats gear up for a big 2025 campaign.
"It has been good, it has been a lot of fun with nice weather as well which has been good," Smith said.
"The boys have been super welcoming, I have been coming in a little bit before the official start so it doesn't feel like too much of a big leap.
"I am enjoying kicking the footy around again and competing against the other boys."
