The AFL has announced the fixtures for the 2025 Smithy’s VFL and rebel VFLW seasons, including the full schedule for Rounds 1-13 of the Smithy’s VFL and Rounds 1-9 of the rebel VFLW.

Match ups for Rounds 14-21 of the Smithy’s VFL and Rounds 10-14 of the rebel VFLW have also been announced, but venues and times for those rounds will be confirmed later in the year.

2025 Smithy's VFL Season

The Cats will feature in a number of exciting matches across the first half of the year, including a season opening clash against Sandringham at Trevor Barker Oval on the 23rd of March.  

Following their clash with the Dragons, the Cats will return home for a triple header at GMHBA Stadium from rounds two to four. 

The round three clash against Casey will be a curtain raiser, kicking off at 3.50pm before the AFL teams do battle at 7.40pm.

Geelong's round seven clash against the GWS Giants will also be a curtain raiser at GMHBA Stadium, with the opening bounce at 11.35am before the AFL game commences at 3.20pm. 

Another clash to keep an eye out for comes in round 12, with Geelong set to take on the reigning premiers, Werribee at Avalon Airport Oval.

The 2025 Smithy’s VFL season will commence the weekend of March 22-23, which will align with Round 2 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The top-ten teams on the ladder at the conclusion of the home and away season will qualify for the Smithy’s VFL Finals Series, which will commence with the Wildcard finals on the weekend of August 23-24.

All matches in the 2025 Smithy’s VFL and VFLW seasons will be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App.

2025 rebel VFLW Season

The rebel VFLW competition will be played in a new season window, with the 2025 campaign to be played from April to August. The competition has been played from March to July over the past two seasons.

The opening round of the 2025 rebel VFLW season will begin the weekend of April 18-20, while the final round of the home and away season will be played the weekend of August 2-3.

The competition will consist of a 14-round home and away season, which will be played across 16 weeks and feature two competition byes.

The rebel VFLW finals format will remain unchanged, with the top-six teams on the ladder at the conclusion of the home and away season to qualify for the 2025 rebel VFLW Finals Series.

All matches in the 2025 Smithy’s VFL and rebel VFLW seasons will be live streamed free via AFL.com.au, the AFL Live Official App and the VFL App. Additional broadcast arrangements will be confirmed shortly.

Ticketing Where Smithy’s VFL matches are ticketed, entry is $10 for adults, $5 for concession holders and kids under 15 are free. Some venues don't charge for entry. AFL ticketing prices apply for VFL matches played as curtain-raisers and curtain-closers to AFL matches.

Entry to VFLW matches is free. Where venues host VFL and VFLW double-headers, entry fees will apply after half time of the VFLW match if played first.
