Geelong and Melbourne are recognised as the two oldest clubs in V/AFL history, holding the longest running rivalry which pre-dates the formation of the VFL competition. 

The two teams have squared off 225 times dating back to 1897, set to write another chapter in the history at GMHBA Stadium on Friday night.
