Geelong Cats is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Dominique Condo as its Head of AFLW.

Condo will report directly to CEO Steve Hocking, and will oversee operations, high performance, medical and list management portfolios of the Club’s AFLW program, with oversight across VFLW also.

Joining the Cats after spending the last three years at Richmond Football Club as Performance Science and Nutrition Manager, Condo has extensive experience in the sport, tertiary education and nutrition fields.

Holding a PhD in Nutrition Science, Condo is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Nutrition and Co-Director for the Centre for Sports Research at Deakin University. Condo has previously worked at the Cats from 2015-2021, across both the men’s and women’s programs in roles as Performance Dietitian and AFLW Player Development Manager.

Geelong Cats CEO Steve Hocking welcomed Condo to the role.

“We’re excited to announce the appointment of Dom as our Head of AFLW. Dom was a highly respected, much-loved, and integral member of our women's program during its inception. In parallel both Dom and our program have grown in experience, and we are thrilled to welcome Dom back to lead our AFLW team as we chase greatness in this next stage of our evolution,” Hocking said.

“Dom has a strong skill set and excellent experience working in women’s football, she is well respected in the industry and has a great passion for working with and supporting athletes through their career, and we look forward to the positive impact Dom will have.”

Condo's appointment follows that of former player Renee Garing as Player Development Manager and Tennille Cuttiford as High Performance Manger.

Having been one of the Club’s AFLW program pioneers on the field, Garing, who holds a Master of Education, will play a key role in providing the best environment for the Geelong’s W athletes to thrive through supporting all the aspects of the individual.

Cuttiford was part of Carlton’s inaugural W high performance team from 2016-2018 and has spent the past 10 years working as the strength and conditioning coach at Maribyrnong Sports Academy working closely with student athletes. Cuttiford holds a Master of Applied Exercise Science (Exercise Prescription).

Garing and Cuttiford have commenced their roles at the Club, while Condo joins at the start of June.
