Geelong head home this weekend for another big clash, as they prepare to take on the GWS Giants at GMHBA Stadium. 

Sunday's match is set to be the 17th time the Cats have squared off with the Giants, after they joined the AFL at the beginning of the 2012 season. 

While it is only a brief history between the two sides, there have still been in a number of incredible games and standout performances that have been written into the record books. 

Take a look at some of the best numbers below from Geelong's history with GWS.

16 - The total number of games played between Geelong and GWS to this point. The Cats currently hold the ascendancy with a record of nine wins, one draw and six losses. 

1 - How many times Geelong has conceded 100 points or more to GWS in a match across their brief history. 

720 - The total number of games Geelong has played at GMHBA Stadium across V/AFL history. The venue has certainly been a happy stomping ground for the Cats, winning 486 times against 229 losses with five draws in the mix as well. 

65 - Geelong's biggest winning margin in a match against the Giants, which came in Round 10 of the 2012 season at GMHBA Stadium. Harry Taylor dominated that day booting six goals, Steve Johnson following close behind with five majors of his own.

7 - The number of games between Geelong and GWS that has been decided by 13 points or less, the two sides certainly familiar with a close finish. 

45 - The highest amount of disposals by a Geelong player in a match against the Giants. This record was set by Patrick Dangerfield in 2017, which is also the fourth highest disposal by a Cats player in the club's history. 

171 - Jeremy Cameron's games total with the GWS Giants before crossing to Geelong, where he has played a further 91 games to this point. 

44,091 - The biggest crowd Geelong and GWS have played in front of, which came in the 2021 Semi Final at Optus Stadium. 

25 - The most contested possessions accumulated by a Geelong player in a match against GWS. The record was also set by Patrick Dangerfield in 2017, which still remains the highest contested possession total in Cats history.

157 - Geelong's highest score in a game against GWS, which came in Round 11 of the 2013 AFL season at ENGIE Stadium. 

4 - The Cats current win streak at GMHBA Stadium, dating back to the Round 21 clash against Adelaide last year. 

90 - Geelong's average score across their 16 games against GWS. 

59.4 - The Cats current win percentage against the GWS Giants. 

13 - The highest number of clearances won by a Geelong player in a match against GWS. Unsurprisingly, this record was also set by Patrick Dangerfield in 2017, the third highest clearance total by a player in Cats history.
