Patrick Dangerfield has finished runner-up in the 2019 Brownlow Medal.

Dangerfield finished on 27 votes, six behind Fremantle midfielder Nat Fyfe who won the award for the second time.

Dangerfield came home strong for the Cats, receiving nine votes in his final three games of the season.

Fellow Geelong midfielder Tim Kelly also finished on the top five on 24 votes.

Kelly was outstanding in just in second season in the AFL, averaging 25 disposals per game and kicking 24 goals.

Gary Ablett (13 votes) and Mitch Duncan (11 votes) also polled strongly for the Cats.

A total of 10 Geelong players received votes from the umpires for their performances throughout the home and away season
