We take a look at which players are in the selection mix to play Carlton at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday at 4.35pm.
Gary Rohan
Has made an impressive return to training and could be a smokey to return this week.
Sam Menegola (29 disposals, eight clearances, eight score involvements)
Responded to his omission in the best possible way with an outstanding performance in the VFL. Menegola finished with a game-high 29 disposals and a goal to push a strong case for an immediate AFL recall.
Scott Selwood (25 disposals, 10 tackles, six clearances)
One of Geelong’s best in their loss to Williamstown. Won plenty of the football and used it efficiently (80%).
Sam Simpson (One goal, 16 disposals, four inside 50s)
Didn’t win as much of the footy as in previous weeks, but looked dangerous every time he had it. Kicked a brilliant running goal in the third quarter and his ability to find space in traffic when there appears to be none and hit his target was excellent.
Rhys Stanley (Two goals, 24 hitouts, 19 disposals)
Kicked two important late goals to give to Cats a sniff. Worked hard around the ground and was a physical presence at the stoppages.
James Parsons (24 disposals, 10 score involvements, five clearances)
Helped keep the Cats in the contest in the first half with 16 disposals and a goal.
Scott: We’ve got a group of players we think are a really good chance (to return). Guys like Charlie Constable and Lachie Fogarty we hope to have ready if a chance opens up, but that’s difficult to forecast. #StandProud #WeAreGeelong

Charlie Constable (20 disposals, six tackles, four clearances)
A solid performance from Constable. 16 of his 20 disposals were handballs and didn’t have the same impact as in recent weeks.
Wylie Buzza (Three goals, nine disposals, six marks)
Looked dangerous every time the ball was in his vicinity with six marks and three goals. It was the 10th time this season that Buzza has kicked at least two goals in a game.
Zac Smith (13 Hitouts, eight disposals, five score involvements)
Was solid in the ruck in tough conditions for big men. His tap down to set up Simpson’s goal was a highlight in an otherwise quiet performance.
