Mitch Duncan believes the Cats' performances in the last two weeks have proved they are much more than a two-man side.

"Internally, we think we've got great depth," Duncan told SEN radio on Thursday morning.

"I think this year we've really proven that."

Duncan is among the players who have stepped up this season to support superstar midfielders Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield.

"Last year was a bit of an anomaly," he said. "We didn't get some people playing the way that they want, and I was probably included, so the criticism [about being a two-man side] was warranted.

"But I think this year we've played a lot more consistent style of footy ... and I think it's been seen, which is really good."

Nevertheless, Duncan, who played his 150th AFL game last weekend, remains in awe of the way Selwood and Dangerfield go about their business.

"It's pretty remarkable playing with two blokes like that," he said.

Duncan is looking forward to taking on the Hawks on Saturday in what will be Luke Hodge's 300th game.

"A great player, a warrior and a great leader," Duncan said of Hodge.

"Unfortunately, I broke his arm [in round one last season].

"He's probably out to get me back, so I'll have to keep my eyes open.

"But he seems like a ripping bloke. All credit to him."
