Lachie Henderson
Had surgery on his right knee on August 23 and subsequently missed the Cats' round 23 win over Melbourne. Then also missed the qualifying final win over Hawthorn. Has trained strongly in the past week and looks certain to line up against the Sydney Swans in Friday night's preliminary final at the MCG.

Nakia Cockatoo
Hasn't played in Geelong's AFL team since suffering knee soreness during the win over Essendon in round 20. Last took to the field in the VFL Cats' elimination final against the Bombers on September 3. Finished that game with 17 disposals, nine tackles, nine clearances and two goals. Was an emergency for the qualifying final against the Hawks.

Jed Bews
Would have been a big chance to get a game if the Cats were playing Adelaide instead of the Swans. But if the selection committee wants to bolster the backline, then Bews is a very reliable option. Was also an emergency for the qualifying final.

Shane Kersten
Has been in an out of the AFL team during the second half of the season. Played against Richmond in round 21 and the Brisbane Lions in round 22 but was dropped for the game against Melbourne in round 23. Was part of the VFL team that was beaten by Essendon in an elimination final on September 3. Finished the game with 14 disposals, five marks and two goals. Was the third emergency for the qualifying final.

Darcy Lang
Was a regular in the AFL team during the first half of the season but has managed only two appearances at the highest level since round 12. Was an outstanding contributor in the VFL during August but was quiet in the elimination final loss to the Bombers.
