Cats’ defender, Harry Taylor, said the Cats lost their momentum when the Lions found theirs, which resulted in yesterday’s five-point loss at the Gabba.

The Cats looked unstoppable before halftime, when the Lions came out from no where to take control in the last term, kicking eight goals to one.

“They just got the momentum and we unfortunately couldn’t slow them down,” Taylor told Cats TV.

"We played some really good footy in the first half and got ourselves in a good position, but football has to be played over four quarters and unfortunately our last two quarters weren’t acceptable and we paid the price."

Taylor was impressed with the Cats out put in the first half, where they managed to direct the stoppages and keep the ball to the front.

“I thought we controlled the stoppages pretty well in the first half and got the ball forward and managed to put a lot of pressure on their defenders,” Taylor explained.

However, the Cats were unable to keep up with their own pace.

“The ball seemed to come out a little bit easier in the second half and we defenders weren’t probably able to slow them down, and they got a few easy marks,” Taylor said.

This week the Cats will examine their performance to determine where they went wrong and how they can be better prepared next time.

“I’m sure the coaches and players will really dissect the game, because we have to learn from it, that’s one of the main things you can get from a loss, particularly for our younger players, so we’ll make sure we’ll do that during the week,” Taylor said.

“I’m sure we’ll learn from it and hopefully if we get into a position like that again we can make the most of it."
