TOM HAWKINS has received a pat on the back from both sets of coaches after his impressive performance in the Cats' win over Greater Western Sydney in Canberra on Saturday.
Hawkins finished the game with 11 disposals, five marks and five goals, which earned him eight votes in the AFL Coaches' Association Player of the Year award.
Fellow Geelong players Steven Motlop, Harry Taylor, Joel Selwood and James Kelly also polled votes.
Motlop was voted best on ground by both sets of coaches.
In-demand midfielder Adam Treloar was the only Giant to poll votes.
