George Horlin-Smith and Dean Gore will be welcome additions to this week’s VFL side who take on the Casey Scorpions on Saturday afternoon.
Horlin-Smith will return after suffering a hyper-extended knee against Essendon VFL in round 8 and Gore will be back after missing eight weeks with nerve pain in his neck and shoulder.
Initially it was feared 19-year-old Gore would not return for the remainder of the season but the young midfielder is no longer hampered by the issue and has trained strongly over the last fortnight.
Nakia Cockatoo will miss this week with a minor adductor strain but is expected to be back in consideration the week after.
After their mid-season bye last week, the VFL Cats will this week begin a stretch of nine matches in the lead up to VFL finals. The Bankers currently sit in 11th position on the VFL ladder with four wins and five losses and face a crucial few weeks as they look to rise up the ladder.
Casey also returns from their mid-season bye and currently sits in 9th position with five wins and four losses.
