1. RHYS STANLEY'S FIRST AFL GAME FOR THE CATS
The former Saint was a late inclusion for the clash with Fremantle at Simonds Stadium, replacing Jared Rivers, who was ruled out due to a knee problem. Stanley hit the ground running, booting two impressive goals, tallying 11 disposals and winning 10 hit-outs.

2. JOSH CADDY'S RETURN TO FORM
The bullocking midfielder had a quiet outing in the big loss to Hawthorn in round one, but he worked his way back into some much better touch against Fremantle. Caddy finished with 20 disposals and 10 tackles, which equated to 103 AFL Fantasy Points.
3. CORY GREGSON'S HUSTLE AND BUSTLE
The 18-year-old has been one of the shining lights for the Cats to date. He gathered 10 disposals and laid five tackles – including a big one on Aaron Sandilands – in the loss to the Dockers. He might be the smallest player on Geelong's list, but he has a very big heart. Even when it was clear that the Cats were going to be beaten by Freo, the little fella kept working hard and trying to win the ball. It was his pass that set up Mitch Clark's goal just a minute or so behind the final siren, and it's fair to say the Cats fans loved his work.
Loving the tackling by Corey Gregson - setting a great example in his 2nd game! #gocats @GeelongCats

4. JOSH WALKER'S VFL SHARP-SHOOTING
The big forward kicked four goals in the Cats' final VFL practice match against Essendon at Tullamarine, taking his tally to 14 goals in his past three matches. With the AFL team struggling to kick winning scores, Walker's efforts have put him firmly in the frame for a recall when Geelong hosts Gold Coast at Simonds Stadium on Sunday.

5. JAKE KOLODJASHNIJ LOOKING READY TO STEP UP
The young defender, who was praised by Cats coach Chris Scott in last week's episode of Tweet The Coach, played a starring role in the VFL clash with the Bombers. Kolodjashnij was listed as second-best on ground in our man Angus Kramer's match report. If Scott decides to bolster the backline for Sunday's home game against Gold Coast, then Kolodjashnij is in the box seat to get a call-up to make his AFL debut.
