GEELONG has made a late change to its team to play Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday night.

Defender Tom Lonergan (ill) has been withdrawn from the Cats' side and replaced by veteran defender Jared Rivers.

The change follows Friday night’s amendment to the team, which saw Mitch Duncan (calf) replaced by George Horlin-Smith.

Rivers will be playing his first AFL game the loss to North Melbourne in round 16.

The clash with the Hawks is Steve Johnson’s 250th AFL match.

The game starts at 7.20pm and will be live on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.
