He’s a three-time premiership player, five-time All Australian and dual best and fairest winner but Corey Enright has a new accolade that few can compare too.
Enright has been bestowed the honour of having the football oval in his hometown of Kimba named after him.
Kimba, population 636, is located 475 km north-west of Adelaide and has not only produced one of the greatest Cats of all time but also the Wakelin brothers who played over 500 AFL games between them.
Speaking to the Eyre Peninsula Tribune, Kimba District Council corporate services manager Deb Larwood said Enright’s name was thrown forward during discussions around the naming of the ground.
"Approval has been sought from the Kimba Districts Football and Netball Club as the sign is to be erected on their scoreboard and they are fully supportive of the initiative." Harwood said.
Enright will look to become the third Cat to play 300 games for the club this year with his career tally currently sitting at 288.
