Check out the Cats' full 2016 fixture.
1. Patrick Dangerfield's first game against Adelaide
'Danger' will head back to the City of Churches for a Friday night blockbuster against the Crows in round eight. It will be Geelong's second trip to the Adelaide Oval in four rounds, as the Cats travel there in round five to play Port Adelaide. The Crows will then visit Simonds Stadium for a Saturday night game in round 18.
2. The Cats' first clash against 'Stevie J'
It will be a strange occasion for Geelong's coaches, players and fans when the Cats head to Canberra to take on Steve Johnson and Giants in round two. Knowing Stevie, he'll be desperate to make a big impression against the club where he made his name. And Stevie will get the chance to strut his stuff on his old home turf when the Giants visit Simonds Stadium for a Saturday twilight game in round 11.
3. A massive start to the season
The Cats will host Hawthorn in an Easter Monday blockbuster in round one. Given the excitement surrounding Geelong's recruiting, and given the fact the Hawks have won the past three flags, a crowd of more than 80,000 should pack into the MCG for the clash. It will be the only meeting between Geelong and Hawthorn during the home and away season.
4. Huge games at Simonds Stadium
There was a distinct lack of night footy in Geelong in 2015, but everything has changed for next season. Not only will there be four night games at the Cattery in 2016, two of them, against the Western Bulldogs and Sydney Swans, will take place on Friday nights. In fact, it shapes as a huge season all round for Simonds Stadium, even though the venue will have a slightly reduced capacity due to the latest stage of the redevelopment. The quality of Geelong's opponents at the Cattery is very high. The club will face 2015 finalists Adelaide, West Coast, the Western Bulldogs and the Sydney Swans at Simonds Stadium. And with Gary Ablett Jr set to return to full fitness next season, it appears that the little champ will return to the Cattery for a rare visit when Gold Coast plays the Cats in a Saturday night game in round six.

5. The first 'Country Game'
As flagged earlier in the week, the first annual 'Country Game' between Geelong and Essendon will take place on a Saturday afternoon at the MCG in round four.
6. Milestones
All going to plan, Jimmy Bartel will play his 300th game in round 18 at Simonds Stadium against the Crows. Along similar lines, Corey Enright needs to play 16 games to equal Ian Nankervis’ club record of 325 games. That could happen when the Cats take on Fremantle at Domain Stadium in round 17 (the Cats have a bye in round 15). Andrew Mackie could play his 250th game when Geelong meets the Swans at Simonds Stadium in round 16, while Harry Taylor could play his 200th game against Richmond at the MCG in round 21.
7. A chance for Walker and Jansen to return to the Cattery
Walker and Jansen were recently traded to the Brisbane Lions where they have ben reunited with another former Cat, Allen Christensen. Walker and Jansen will get their first chance to line up against their former club when the Lions travel to Geelong for a Sunday twlight game at Simonds Stadium in round three.
8. An away clash against Fremantle
Games between Geelong and the Dockers at Domain Stadium have been classic encounters in recent years. Although two of the key protagonists, Steve Johnson and Ryan Crowley, will be missing when the teams meet in Perth next year, history suggests it will be another fractious and spirited contest.
9. A Saturday arvo clash with Collingwood at the 'G
It's been a while since the Cats and Pies have met in a traditional Saturday afternoon game at the MCG, but such a clash has been scheduled for round nine. It should be a great occasion.
10. A last-round home game
The Cats have been well served by having a game at Simonds Stadium in round 23 in recent years, and next season they will round out their home and away campaign with a game against Melbourne at the Cattery. The time and date of the game will be determined around halfway through next season.
