Geelong’s six new players have been presented with their jumper numbers ahead of the 2020 season. Four of the six numbers will be worn for the first time.
Amy McDonald will wear the number three, the same number she wore for Geelong’s VFLW side this year. The number three was made vacant by Hannah Burchell who was traded to Richmond as a delisted free agent at the end of the 2019 AFLW season.
Father-daughter pick Mille Brown decided not to follow in her Dad’s footsteps choosing to become the first player to wear the number 19. Brown’s father Paul wore the number 40 for eight seasons between 1990-98.
Small forward Madisen Maguire has chosen the number seven formerly worn by Mia-Rae Clifford. Maguire wore the number 43 during the club’s 2019 VFLW campaign.
Defender Gemma Wright will wear the number 15 and Geelong Falcons product Mia Skinner decided on the number 20.
Midfielder and former Casey VFLW captain Nicole Garner will become the first player to wear the number 22.
All players who played in the 2019 season have kept the same number for 2020.
