The Selwood family will reach rare air on Friday night.
Joel, Scott, Adam and Troy will become just the third set of brothers to have played 700 AFL games.
With 272 games from Joel, 187 from Adam, 167 from Scott and 75 from Troy the Selwood brothers will have played a combined 701 games of AFL at the completion of Friday night’s Elimination Final.
Looking at the calibre of players above them on the list, it is not a milestone to be taken lightly.
The Madden brothers (Simon and Justin) enjoyed successful careers at Essendon and Carlton and are the only brothers to have both played more than 300 games of VFL/AFL. Between them they played 710 games and kicked 765 goals.
Sitting pretty atop the list are the four Daniher brothers with 752 games of VFL/AFL shared between them.
Terry played 313 of those games, while Tony managed 233, Chris 124 and Neale 83.
In the 699 games of AFL football that the Selwood brothers have played, they have managed four premierships, four best and fairests, six All Australians and 212 Brownlow votes.
With Geelong in the premiership race, Joel and Scott will be hoping to add to that number of premierships.
With the hard and uncompromising style of football the Selwood brothers play, we know that they will give it their all to add another piece of silverware.
It appears highly likely that the Selwood brothers will overtake the Danihers, with Joel looking like he has plenty of football to play and Scott still under 30.
