Cats accept Hunt ban
Geelong will not challenge the one game suspension handed to Taylor Hunt for rough conduct
Hunt was booked by the AFL’s Match Review Panel for engaging in rough conduct with Brisbane’s Daniel Rich.
In the incident, Hunt went to lay a shepherd for teammate Mitch Duncan and despite getting low clashed heads with Rich.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Brisbane Lions Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two Offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduced the sanction by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-match sanction.
