Geelong will welcome their ninth father-son draftee to the AFL fold with young defender Jed Bews selected for his debut on Saturday night.

The third placed Cats will take on eighth-placed Fremantle at 5.40 local time at Patersons Stadium.

Bews has been included into the side along with All Australian defender Andrew Mackie.

Making way for the duo are Mathew Stokes (suspended) and George Burbury (groin).

Bews was selected with pick 86 in the 2011 draft. Over the past two years he has honed his game in the VFL as a fast and tough defender.
