The VFL Cats have added to their key position stocks ahead of the 2014 season through the acquisition of former Werribee Tigers key forward Cameron Tudor and graduating Geelong Falcons defender Fraser Fort. The promising duo have been joined on the list of new recruits by talented St Mary’s utility Luke Bath.

21-year-old Tudor played 2 VFL senior games and 34 VFL development league games for the Werribee Tigers in the past 2 seasons. The former Geelong Falcon booted 44 goals last year in the development league, including two hauls of 6.

Fraser Fort had an impressive season with the Geelong Falcons, being named Full Back in the 2013 ‘TAC Cup Team of the Year’, winning the Geelong Falcons ‘Most Dedicated Award’ and finishing 5th in the club’s best and fairest award. Fort, who has shown an ability to play at either end of the ground, will be eligible to play with the Cats as a 23rd player next season.

18-year-old Fort will line up with his home club South Barwon when not required to play VFL next year.

Bath has also committed to the Cats after a couple of standout seasons at GFL level. In 2013 Bath was selected to play with the VCFL Representative side and was named in the ‘2013 GFL Team of the Year’ in the back pocket.

Tudor, Fort and Bath join former North Ballarat Roosters midfielder Chris Lynch and talented Colac duo James Linton and Kane Leersen as new additions to the 2014 Geelong VFL squad.

The signings come on the back of a host of VFL regulars such as Dom Gleeson, Mark Corrigan, Ben Raidme, Matthew Sully, Jack Hollmer, Daniel Gibbs, Tom Maas, Mitchell Herbson and Zak Sherman recommitting to the Cats for the 2014 season.

The VFL Cats had their final training session last night and will recommence the training program on the 13th of January. The second tier Cats will then play their first practice match on Friday the 7th of March against the North Ballarat Roosters at Simonds Stadium.
