Geelong players Josh Caddy and Billie Smedts have expressed regret that an innocent prank ended with the pair being pulled over by police.

Caddy and Smedts went to team mate Jackson Thurlow’s house, and were spotted wearing a balaclava. A neighbour called 000 thinking something was amiss and that led to police pulling the pair over. After the situation was explained the police sent the duo on their way.

“We thought it would be a bit of laugh to scare young Jackson Thurlow in his new house,” Caddy told the media on Friday.

“Me and Billie are both disappointed that we scared people in the community. The club has dealt with it. The police have dealt with it. We are both sorry to that lady (that thought we were doing something).”

A spokesman said the club considered the matter closed.

“It was good that when a member of the community thought that something may have been wrong they reported it, and that the police responded to that. When the boys explained what happened the police accepted what had happened and sent them on their way. As far as the club is concerned the matter has been dealt with.”
