Success of the sub?
After Mathew Stokes amazing sub performance, are we any clearer on the rule?
Mathew Stokes in little over a quarter racked up 16 touches, five scoring assists and enough kilometeres to rival a Kenyan marathon runner.
So are we any clearer on what the sub rule means?
Speaking on Cats TV's Argue the Toss, Josh Hunt and Scott Gullan said teams and experts alike still didn't have it down pat.
"The timing of the sub and when to use it is the hard part." Hunt said
"If there is a close game you don’t want to take someone off to bring someone on but luckily for us on the weekend we brought Stokesy on and he was absolutely amazing."
Gullan said why the Cats may have been top heavy prior to the substitution, the timing was the key.
"I think the timing was good, it wasn’t late. A lot of coaches wait til the last quarter and its very difficult for players to have an impact." Gullan said.
