Geelong will enter their Round 10 clash against North Melbourne on Wednesday night with confidence after a gallant effort against the Eagles.
Despite their 1-2 record from the trip to WA, Coach Chris Scott has come away from the experience in a positive frame of mind.
“For what it is worth we came away from the three-week period more optimistic about our chances this season than otherwise,” Scott said speaking at Tuesday’s press conference.
The team arrived on the Gold Coast on Monday evening and immediately switched their focus to recovery with the short turnaround between games.
Their opponent North Melbourne produced their best performance of the season last round defeating Adelaide by 69-points.
Their on-ball brigade were particularly impressive, with Luke McDonald leading the charge with 35-disposals.
Geelong have received a boost with captain Joel Selwood, Rhys Stanley and Tom Atkins all named to return from injury.
The match against the Roos will commence at 5.40pm AEST and be televised on Fox Footy.
